What is a Work Platform?   

A work platform is an ergonomic and stable lifting device that raises and lowers authorized personnel, goods, and their tools to a safe working position. It makes it easy to access difficult spots and improves working conditions by creating a secure, efficient, and reliable workspace.   
A standard work access platform is usually fixed to the floor, but it can also be made mobile with castors or a truck frame, allowing it to be positioned where it is needed, for safety reasons, no persons may be on the platform while it is being moved horizontally. Sax Lift platforms are built on a scissor lift mechanism, ensuring smooth vertical travel for both goods and personnel.  

• A work platform is not an elevator  
• A work platform cannot be used as an elevator where the operator can leave the platform in an upper position. The platform can only be entered/exited in lowered position  
   
  

Flexible and Movable 

Our work platforms, and the way they are positioned, can be designed according to specific needs.   
The three main options are:   

• Stationary work platform – bolted to the floor   

• Truck frame – for forklift transport   

• Wheel frame – for forklift transport and manual repositioning    

The difference from a work access platform supplied by Sax Lift, versus a traditional self-propelled (driving) scissor lift, is that we can offer all sizes and create room to bring materials and move around on the platform, providing a flexible, ergonomic, and safe environment.  

Through the options of having truck frames or wheel frames, this flexibility means that the same platform can support multiple tasks across your facility.
